We are currently seeking passionate and experienced English educators to join our Secondary Schools in 2025:
VCE English Teacher – Boys’ Secondary School
Head of English/English Teacher – Girls’ Secondary School
All roles are permanent and can be offered on either a part-time or full-time basis, depending on the successful candidates’ availability and preferences. These opportunities are ideal for educators with a strong understanding of the English curriculum, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to student growth and achievement.
Key Responsibilities (for all roles):
Deliver engaging and rigorous English instruction aligned with VCAA study designs (VCE roles) or curriculum frameworks (Years 7–10)
Develop and implement differentiated teaching programs to meet the needs of diverse learners
Work collaboratively with faculty colleagues to support quality teaching and curriculum innovation
Monitor, assess, and report on student learning and progress
Foster a respectful, supportive, and aspirational classroom culture
Additional Responsibilities (for Head of English):
Lead the development and delivery of the English curriculum across Years 7–12
Mentor and support English faculty members
Promote professional learning and curriculum excellence
Contribute to whole-school literacy strategies and academic planning
About You:
Proven success teaching English at the secondary level (including VCE for applicable roles)
Strong content knowledge and understanding of current best practice in English education
Effective classroom management and a relational approach to student engagement
Demonstrated capacity to collaborate with staff and contribute to faculty goals
Current VIT registration
A commitment to child safety and an understanding of the Child Safe Standards
