Tropic Petroleum are seeking the services of suitably qualified Truck Driver on a casual basis to join their team at their Cairns based Depot.

Tropic Petroleum (Tropic) has been distributing fuel in North Queensland since the Company’s incorporation in 1968. Tropic is the only independent family owned petroleum distribution company left in North Queensland. Tropic is the authorised Ampol Distributor for North Queensland and as such we have guaranteed supply of high quality fuels and lubricants. Qualifications & experience

HR licence or above

Bulk Dangerous Goods licence desirable but not necessary

An SLP passport desirable but not necessary

Previous experience as a truck driver

Attention to detail and the ability complete all required paperwork

Good customer service and communication skills

Previous experience with Fatigue Management desirable but not necessary

The ability to work weekends, early mornings and/or evenings

Tasks & responsibilities

Completing daily pre-start checks on vehicles and equipment

Complete log book and fatigue management procedures

Follow instructions from schedulers for daily duties, trip sheets and time-frames

Develop positive relationships with customers

Loading, transportation and delivery of fuels

Ensure safety and compliance is adhered to at all times
