About the role

We’re seeking passionate and experienced Registered Midwives who are ready for their next adventure. Our Midwives take on contract placements of 4–12 weeks at various healthcare facilities nationwide—helping to fill critical workforce gaps in maternity services.

Key responsibilities include:

Provide holistic, evidence-based antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to women and newborns

Support safe and positive birthing experiences in a range of clinical settings

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate midwifery care in line with national guidelines and hospital protocols

Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals

Promote and support breastfeeding, maternal education, and newborn care

Maintain accurate clinical documentation and use relevant electronic health systems

Respond to obstetric emergencies with confidence and clinical competence

Ensure culturally safe and respectful care for diverse populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities

Skills and experience

Registered Midwife with current AHPRA registration

Minimum 2 years’ recent midwifery experience (hospital or community)

Demonstrated adaptability and independence

Experience in a variety of maternity care settings preferred

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

FSEP and OFSEP preferred

Birth Suite experience preferred
