About the Role

We are looking for a professional and dependable full-time automotive mechanic with a wide-ranging knowledge of various vehicle makes and models. Strong self-management skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and attention to detail are crucial. Effective communication and a friendly, approachable demeanour are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications & Experience

Certified Automotive Mechanic with a minimum of three years of hands-on experience

Holds an AQF Certificate III or IV in Automotive Technology

Proven experience in maintaining light vehicles

A strong commitment to teamwork and fostering a positive work culture

Licence/Certification

Valid Driver’s Licence (Required)

Duties and Responsibilities

Inspect engines, transmissions, brakes, and other vehicle systems.

Use diagnostic tools to identify mechanical or electrical issues.

Perform road tests to identify performance issues.

Conduct routine maintenance (oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements).

Replace worn-out parts like brake pads, spark plugs, belts, etc.

Tune engines and check for proper vehicle function.

Repair or replace faulty components (engines, gearboxes, suspension, etc.).

Fix or rebuild mechanical systems as needed.

Address electrical faults (wiring, battery, alternator, etc.).

Operate diagnostic machines, hoists, power tools, and hand tools safely.

Maintain and calibrate tools and equipment as required.

Discuss vehicle problems and repairs with customers.

Provide repair estimates and explain technical issues in simple terms.

Record details of inspections, repairs, and parts used.

Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

Adhere to environmental regulations regarding disposal of oils and parts.

Stay updated on manufacturer specifications and industry standards.

Work alongside other mechanics, apprentices, business owners

Mentor junior mechanics if required.
