We are seeking a Team Leader Building to provide coordinated leadership and supervision for the building team’s day-to-day activities. We offer flexibility, growth, and a chance to assess diverse development applications and ensure development compliance across the city.

Experience and Qualifications required:

Leadership and management skills in a local government environment.

Manage and organise work to meet conflicting demands of a diverse team.

A comprehensive understanding of the National Construction Code, Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 and the Development Assessment system that applies under these Acts is essential.

Ability to solve complex issues in relation to building and compliance within the parameters of Council’s policy, programs, procedures and practices.

A sound understanding of the Development Assessment process and the prescribed inspections regime.

Bachelor of Construction Management or similar tertiary qualification in a related field (or relevant experience).

Accredited by AIBS as a Level 1 Building Surveyor or Level 2 with significant experience in Building Surveying A minimum 5 years’ experience in providing professional building assessment and undertaking buildings inspections.

Experience as a member of a Building Fire Safety Committee.
