About the Role:

This is a flexible, part-time position ideal for a senior tax accountant who enjoys independence, variety, and building strong relationships with clients. You'll be responsible for preparing tax returns, BAS', and providing small business advisory services, all from the comfort of your home and during school hours.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, individuals and partnerships

Prepare BAS, IAS, and FBT returns

Provide tax planning and small business advisory services, including cash flow forecasts, monthly KPI reports and strategic business plans

Liaise with clients via phone, email and zoom calls (potentially in person if local)

Work independently using Xero and associated cloud-based tools

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years' experience in Australian public practice accounting

Strong working knowledge of Xero (required)

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce or related field (required)

CPA qualified, or working towards (preferred)

Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

Able to manage your own workflow and deadlines remotely

Experience managing a portfolio of small business clients in various industries

Must be based in Australia (Brisbane / Moreton Bay area preferred)

Must maintain secure home office setup with reliable internet and capacity for confidential document storage

Role Details:

Hours: approx. 25 hours/week (suit school hours M-F)

Location: 100% remote (work from home)

Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 (pro rata) + super

Start: Flexible — ideally ASAP
