The Team:

Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital, and the Surgical & Endoscopy Access Unit within the RHH facilitates the patient journey from surgical outpatient clinics on to elective surgical and endoscopy waiting lists, preparing patients for procedures in conjunction with all surgical specialities and the Department of Anaesthetic & Perioperative Medicine, and schedules patients for procedures in close association with Perioperative Services.

Job Description:

The Enrolled Nurse provides patient centred nursing care to assigned patients/clients, within the scope of practice of an enrolled nurse and under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse to achieve planned patient outcomes.

The Role:

• Contribute to the development of elective admission plans for the patient elective surgical & endoscopy care pathway.
• Participate in decision making with the multidisciplinary team to achieve planned patient outcomes.
• Assist in the collection of comprehensive clinical data from the patient and/or family via telecommunications and at the Anaesthetic Assessment Clinic.
• Provide information to the patient/client and/or family in accordance with their surgical or endoscopy care plan.

• An understanding of inpatient or outpatient Surgical &/or Perioperative patient care provision
• A constructive solution focused approach to challenges
• To be ready for a fast paced team environment

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, day worker position, working 48 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Location: Hobart, Tasmania

Salary: $70,980 to $78,179 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

• Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
