The Opportunity

Join the team at Pendergast Northwest Freight Services' as an experienced MC / HC General operator. In this full-time role based in Tamworth, NSW 2340, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Operate heavy vehicles such as prime movers, semi-trailers and rigid trucks in a safe and compliant manner

Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle roadworthiness

Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment and techniques

Maintain accurate records of work activities, driving times and vehicle maintenance

Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients and other team members

Adhere to all relevant road transport regulations and company policies

What We're Looking For

Current MC or HC driver's licence with a clean driving record

Minimum of 3 years' experience operating heavy vehicles in a commercial transport environment

Strong knowledge of load restraint and safe driving practices

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Commitment to safety and a proactive approach to risk management
