POSITION OVERVIEW: We are currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Welder / Fabricator to join our team. This is a key role suited to a professional with 9+ years of experience in the manufacturing and construction sectors, possessing in-depth knowledge of a wide range of welding techniques and a demonstrated ability to work with precision under pressure.

The successful candidate will have proven expertise in TIG, MIG, FCAW, and SMAW welding, as well as the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications with accuracy. A strong commitment to safety, quality assurance, and collaborative teamwork is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Welding & Fabrication

Perform high-quality welding on components such as pipes, brackets, I-beams, and custom metal structures using TIG, MIG, FCAW, and SMAW methods.

Interpret engineering drawings and welding specifications to plan and execute welding tasks accurately.

Fabricate and repair metal structures in line with technical requirements and design standards.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

Conduct thorough inspections to ensure all welds meet industry and project-specific standards.

Identify welding defects and recommend corrective actions as required.

Maintain strict adherence to workplace safety protocols and industry regulations.

Equipment Operation

Operate and maintain a range of specialised machinery and equipment, including overhead cranes, forklifts, cutting machines, grinders, and hydraulic bending tools.

Ensure all tools and equipment are used safely and maintained in good working condition.

Team Collaboration

Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other fabricators to meet deadlines and production targets.

Provide support and mentorship to junior welders and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work culture.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 9 years of relevant experience in welding and fabrication within the manufacturing or construction industries.

Proficient in multiple welding techniques (TIG, MIG, FCAW, SMAW).

Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings.

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Physical capability to perform welding in various positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead).

Certifications Required

White Card (Construction Induction)

Asbestos Awareness Certification

Yellow Card (EWP)

Current Welding Performance Qualifications and familiarity with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)

Preferred Skills & Attributes

Experience using welding machines, overhead cranes, forklifts, and specialised metalworking equipment.
