Working extensively in the education industry we are looking for an experienced, polished truck driver to join our fleet of trucks and trailers to transport our school buildings or oversize buildings.

About the Role

Grove Group is seeking an experienced and professional HR Rigid Crane Truck Driver to join our expanding fleet in Pakenham, VIC. The role involves operating an HR rigid crane truck to transport modular and oversize buildings, primarily for schools, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and professional presentation. The successful candidate must hold a Heavy Combination (HC) license, as the role may occasionally require towing a trailer, classifying the vehicle as an HC combination. Additionally, the driver must hold a Vehicle Crane (CV) ticket and be flexible to switch between trucks as needed to meet work demands.

This role involves a strong seasonal workflow, with periods of long hours during peak times and slower periods during off-peak seasons. The driver must be adaptable to changing start times, prepared for occasional weekend work, and available for interstate trips, which may be scheduled at short notice. As the role involves deliveries to school sites, the successful candidate must be comfortable working in environments with children and hold a valid Working with Children Check.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate an HR rigid crane truck to transport modular and oversize buildings to various sites, primarily schools, across Victoria and occasionally interstate.

Use the vehicle crane to load and unload modular buildings, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Occasionally tow a trailer, requiring an HC license, to meet specific job requirements.

Switch between trucks as needed to complete assigned tasks efficiently.

Ensure timely and safe delivery while adhering to all transport and crane operation regulations.

Maintain the presentation and condition of assigned vehicles and equipment.

Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth logistics and installation processes.

Adapt to changing schedules, including variable start times and last-minute interstate trips.

Uphold a professional demeanor when interacting with clients, particularly in school environments.

Essential Requirements

Current Heavy Combination (HC) License.

Valid Vehicle Crane (CV) ticket.

Proven experience operating an HR rigid crane truck and handling oversize loads.

Valid Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).

Construction Induction Safety Certificate (White Card).

Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug test.

Ability to work occasional weekends and undertake interstate trips, sometimes at short notice.

Flexibility to adapt to changing start times and switch between trucks as required.

Self-motivated with a can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills.

Professional presentation and communication skills in all dealings.

Desirable Skills

Experience in dogging (DG) is an advantage.

Previous experience in the transport of modular buildings or similar structures.
