About the Role
Join the dynamic team on 4E1, a 16-bed Coronary Care Unit where you’ll provide exceptional nursing care in a fast-paced, patient-centred environment. With a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 for six beds and 1:3 for the remaining ten, you’ll support patients with acute cardiac conditions, including life-threatening emergencies, diagnostics, interventional procedures, and rehabilitation. As part of the CALHN Heart & Lung Program, you’ll also contribute to cardiothoracic surgery care and pre-operative services, playing a vital role in the patient journey.
As a Registered Nurse, you will be supported through comprehensive education opportunities, including an 11-week Cardiac Rhythms course and a 20-week High Acuity program, led by expert Heart and Lung educators. Working alongside senior CCU nurses, cardiac nurse specialists, and cardiology consultants, you’ll develop from a novice to a proficient practitioner. You’ll take accountability for delivering high-quality care, empower patients in their treatment, and be an essential member of a specialised cardiology nursing team committed to professional growth and excellence.
About You
You are a registered Nurse (or eligible) with a current practising certificate, committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centred care. You thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment and bring strong communication and problem-solving skills to your role.
Registered or eligible for registration with the Nursing Board of Australia
Skilled communicator with problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation abilities
Able to prioritise workload effectively and work collaboratively in teams
Committed to creative, innovative, and flexible approaches in healthcare
