About the role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to lead and support our Turf Maintenance team in delivering high-quality playing surfaces and open space maintenance. This supervisory role will be responsible for overseeing a small team of Turf Maintenance Officers, providing day-to-day direction, coaching, and hands-on support to ensure the efficient and effective completion of maintenance tasks.
Working closely with the Sportsground Coordinator, the successful candidate will contribute to the planning and scheduling of turf maintenance works, seasonal renovations, and special projects. The role will also involve liaising with contractors, monitoring work standards, and ensuring that all maintenance activities are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.
What you’ll deliver
- Supervising and supporting the Turf Maintenance team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Coordinating daily operations, task allocation, and monitoring progress to ensure service delivery targets are met.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of maintenance schedules in consultation with the Sportsground Coordinator.
- Engaging and coordinating with external contractors and suppliers as required.
- Supporting the delivery of capital and operational projects related to sportsground upgrades or turf improvement.
- Maintaining high standards of turf quality, safety, and presentation across all managed sites.

What You’ll Bring
- Strong knowledge of modern sportsground maintenance principals
- Familiarity with sportsground standards, compliance and guidelines
- Experience operating and maintaining turf maintenance equipment
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and supervise a small team in an outdoor, hands-on work environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to allocate tasks and prioritize work efficiently.
- Ability to assist in the coordination and monitoring of contractors for projects like turf renovations
- Certificate III in Sports Turf Management or previous leadership experience in a hands on role within the Sports Turf industry.
- Current Driver’s License (essential).
- ChemCert or other relevant tickets (advantageous).
