Position: Graduate Engineer – Strategic Road Maintenance

Location: Marsden

Employment Type: Mon – Fri, until Feb 2026 with possibility of extension

Payrate: $39/hr + super

Maxima is currently seeking various highly motivated individuals as Graduate Engineer – Strategic Road Maintenance for one of our government clients.

In this role, you will contribute to the strategic planning and delivery of road and drainage maintenance programs. As a Graduate Engineer – Strategic Road Maintenance, you will work closely with the Principal Engineer to collect and analyse asset data, develop forward works programs and provide technical support to delivery teams.

You’ll gain hands-on experience in project planning, asset management, GIS and contract administration while being part of a collaborative team that values innovation, safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, analyse, and interpret asset condition data to inform road and drainage maintenance planning.
• Assist in developing forward works programs aligned with asset management principles and objectives.
• Provide technical support to maintenance teams, including troubleshooting mobile hardware and software tools.
• Utilise GIS and other data systems to maintain and update spatial and asset-related information.
• Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of maintenance projects using project management principles.
• Assist with contract preparation, administration, and performance monitoring in line with procedures.
• Contribute to disaster management planning, data collection and recovery-related submissions.
• Identify and implement process improvements, innovative practices and continuous service enhancements.

What We’re Looking For:

• A degree-qualified engineer (or near completion) in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a strong interest in road infrastructure and asset management.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and develop practical solutions.
• A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across teams and with stakeholders.
• Enthusiastic and proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Sound knowledge or willingness to develop expertise in GIS, asset management systems, and project planning tools.
• Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
• A current Queensland ‘C’ Class driver’s licence
• Possession (or willingness to obtain) a White Card.
