The Role

We are seeking a Full Time/Part Time Youth Wellbeing Officer. In this frontline role, you’ll support young people to navigate mental health, wellbeing, education, and life transitions using a strengths-based, person-led approach. You’ll undertake intake/assessments, coordinate referrals, provide practical and emotional support, and build strong connections with local services to ensure young people have the tools, confidence and opportunities to thrive. Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Completed Tertiary level qualification in a human services or related field or working towards completion. (Diploma/Bachelor). New Graduates are welcome to apply.

Understanding of mental health challenges and how they inform a young person’s experiences.

Understanding of regional services, programs, and supports available to young people/students across the Tablelands-Mareeba region, including those related to mental health, education, training, employment, housing, and social and emotional wellbeing.

Strong reflective practice skills.

Valid Working with Children's Check.

Current 'C' class QLD driver's licence.

The base rate for this position depending on qualifications and experience is $76,379 to $81,926 pro rata per annum, plus superannuation and portable LSL. (Equivalent SCHADS Level 3)

In addition to your remuneration, you will enjoy generous tax free benefits up to $15,900 and up to an additional $2,650 for entertainment benefits per annum, as VPG is an Australian Charity.
