About the Role

Fam Connect is seeking passionate and committed Youth Mentors to join our team in Bathurst. In this role, you will provide one-on-one mentoring for children and young people, with a focus on building trusting relationships, supporting emotional development, and helping young people develop positive life skills.

This is a casual role that requires availability outside standard business hours, including weekends and public holidays as needed, though we offer flexibility. The hours can often be unpredictable.

Key Responsibilities

Provide consistent, supportive mentoring to young people in the Bathurst area and across the Central West.

Engage young people in meaningful activities to build trust, confidence, and life skills.

Support young people who may have experienced domestic violence, trauma, or placement instability.

Help young people heal from trauma through a commitment to developing safe, dependable, and long-term relationships.

Work collaboratively with the Fam Connect team to ensure the safety and well-being of each young person.

About You

You have experience working with young people, particularly those who have experienced trauma or challenging behaviours.

You are resilient, reliable, and proactive.

You either hold or are working towards a relevant qualification in youth work, community services, or a related field, or have extensive experience in this field.

You have a valid unrestricted Australian driver's licence.

You hold a current Senior First Aid and CPR Certificate.

You can pass a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.

You have strong communication skills. Tech savvy is also helpful.
