For the Love of Dogs is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities through unique opportunities in the veterinary and animal care sector. Our goals are to provide people with disabilities opportunities for social connection through interactions with dogs, training and supported employment in the animal care industries. We’re looking for a qualified groomer with experience in dog behaviour and enrichment to join our team in a hands-on, multi-faceted role.

About the Role

This role is ideal for someone who is confident and capable across all areas of dog grooming, while also interested in supporting the daily routines and training needs of dogs in our care. You’ll be working closely with a small team to deliver excellent animal care, contribute to structured enrichment activities, and help create a calm, welcoming space for both dogs and people.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out full-service dog grooming including bathing, drying, clipping, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and external anal gland expression

Prepare dogs for grooming and participant-led activities

Support training and enrichment routines using positive reinforcement

Monitor and report on dog behaviour, wellbeing, or any concerns

Maintain high standards of hygiene across grooming and shared areas

Record services provided and assist with clear team communication

About You

Certificate in Dog Grooming or equivalent experience

Confident handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments

Experienced in daycare, grooming salons, kennels, or similar environments

Strong understanding of dog behaviour and enrichment techniques

Calm, compassionate, and proactive

Comfortable working as part of a team in a dynamic environment

Experience working with or supporting people living with disabilities is an advantage
