About Your Opportunity

McColl's currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Heavy Vehicle Trailer Mechanic for an immediate start! This full time position is based at our Altona Workshop.

Attractive hourly base rates + workshop allowances

4-day work week with rotating weekday RDOs (Mon–Fri) for an improved work-life balance

About Your New Position

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Servicing both chemical and food grade tankers;

Conducting servicing, repairs, major overhauls trailer suspension systems;

Conducting servicing, repairs, major overhauls trailer axles;

Conducting internal inspections of tankers (training provided);

Conducting minor electrical repairs – lighting, EBS, tanker overfill protection system;

Minor welding repairs (training provided);

Ability to work after hours breakdown roster.

To be Successful You will bring:

Current Trade/Diesel Mechanic Certificate

Minimum 5 years experience as a qualfied mechanic

Cummins/Volvo experience (preferred)

Prior BPW, SAF, Hendrickson suspension experience

Experience with EBS and previous OEM training highly regarded

Prior experience servicing fleet equipment

Leading Hand Experience (preferred)

A high attention to detail with a strong focus on job safely and quality
