The Opportunity

A government legal team is seeking an experienced employment or industrial relations lawyer to join its Workplace Law practice. This is an opportunity to work on complex, high-profile matters that impact Queensland’s public sector.

Joining this department, will see you become part of a highly sought after team amongst leading and well regarded practitioners in the employment law space. This is an opportunity for an experienced Workplace Lawyer, to work across a broad range of matters dealt with by the team.

Advise on employment, industrial relations, anti-discrimination, and WorkCover matters

Represent government clients in tribunals and courts at state and federal levels

Draft high-quality legal advice, court documents and correspondence

Brief and instruct counsel on litigation matters

Support legal training for government departments

About You

You have a minimum of 4 years PQE and up to 10 years PQE in Employment Law. You will have demonstrated experience in Industrial Relations and Employment law, gained in either the public sector, or a law firm environment. You will be familiar with Queensland public sector employment law.

You will be passionate about your area of expertise and have the ability to mentor junior lawyers in the team. You will enjoy working on varied and impactful matters in a supportive environment.
