The role

We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic School Canteen Assistant to join our team at TNS Canteen Services Pty Ltd in Tamworth, NSW. As a casual employee, you will play a vital role in providing healthy and delicious meals to the students of the local school community.

What you'll be doing

Preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold food items

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety in the canteen

Assisting with the daily operations of the canteen, including cash handling and customer service

Providing excellent customer service to students, teachers and staff

Collaborating with the Canteen Manager to ensure the efficient running of the canteen

What we're looking for

Previous experience in a customer service or food service role

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands

Good time management and organisational skills

Enthusiasm for providing healthy and nutritious food options

A current Food Handler's Certificate or willingness to obtain one

Knowledge of the NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy would be advantageous but not essential - training will be provided

A current and valid Working with Children's Check is a must!
