About the Role

As Head of Program – Information Technology, you’ll lead the strategic and academic direction of Melbourne Polytechnic’s IT programs. This high-impact role includes teaching, curriculum leadership, team management, industry engagement, and quality assurance across our growing suite of undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Key Responsibilities

Provide academic and strategic leadership for IT programs, staff, and students

Drive curriculum innovation, program quality, and accreditation (TEQSA, ACS)

Strengthen research outputs, mentoring early career academics

Build partnerships with industry, regulators, and professional bodies

Manage academic operations, timetabling, staffing, and student outcomes

Represent Melbourne Polytechnic in governance and academic forums

Skills and Experience Required

PhD in Information Technology or a closely related discipline

Demonstrated excellence in academic leadership and curriculum development

Strong record in teaching, research, and student engagement

Proven experience with TEQSA and ACS accreditation processes

Commitment to inclusive education, staff development, and continuous improvement

Additional Requirements

Successful candidate will be required to provide:

A valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC)

A National Police Check
