ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Drill and Blast Superintendent at Norton Gold Fields, you are expected to lead safe, efficient, and cost-effective drill and blast operations aligned with production goals. This role oversees planning, execution, and contractor performance while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. It drives continuous improvement and supports workforce development through strong leadership and mentoring. The position plays a key role in optimising performance to meet operational objectives.

Lead and optimise daily drill and blast operations in line with mine plans, schedules, and production targets.

Mentor supervisors and crews while managing workforce planning, performance, compliance, and training.

Ensure all activities meet site safety, environmental, and operational standards through inspections, audits, and incident investigations.

Collaborate with mine planning and geology teams to refine blast designs, improve fragmentation, and minimise ore loss and dilution.

Drive cost control, implement efficiency trials, and contribute to budgeting and long-term planning processes.

Oversee infrastructure readiness, support recruitment, and promote a high-performance, safety-focused culture.

ABOUT YOU

At least 7 years of relevant experience in drill & blast and 2 years of leadership experience (Essential).

Statutory Supervisor qualification AND Unrestricted QM Tickets or in the process of acquiring one (Essential).

Current, unrestricted Western Australian Class “C” Driver’s Licence (Essential).

Proficient with IT and/or Engineering project methodologies (Desirable).

Relevant Tertiary or TAFE qualifications (Desirable).

Comfortable communicating at all levels from operators through to management and chairing meetings.

Good understanding of the following machines:

Atlas T45 , D45 and L7 Blast hole Drill rigs

Receive up to $5k site allowance per annum, depending on your site location.

Receive up to 15% short-term incentive payment (STIP) of your base salary.
