About the role

Melwood Joinery is seeking a full-time Truck Driver / Joinery Handler to join our team in Braeside, VIC. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering timber and joinery products to our customers across Melbourne and the surrounding regions. You will also assist with loading and unloading the truck, as well as handling and organising the joinery items in our warehouse.

What you'll be doing

Safely driving a small-sized delivery truck to transport timber and custom joinery products to customer locations

Loading and unloading the truck, ensuring efficient packing, strapping and organisation of all joinery products

Handling and moving joinery items in the warehouse, including lifting, carrying and the use of a forklift to store joinery in the dispatch area prior to delivery

Handling and moving joinery on site and securing in correct locations within the site using marked up floor plans

Use of an ERP system to to tick off joinery as they get loaded and unloaded and to also track delivery times

Providing feedback to management teams to help drive efficiencies within this area of the business

Maintaining the cleanliness and roadworthiness of the delivery vehicle

Providing excellent customer service and communication with team members & clients during deliveries

Keeping clean and organised the dispatch area

What we're looking for

A current, valid driver's licence

A current forklift license

Experience in driving medium-sized delivery trucks and operating forklifts

Strong physical fitness and the ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy joinery items with highest care

Excellent customer service skills and a professional, courteous demeanour

A keen eye for detail and the ability to work efficiently and accurately

Good communication and problem-solving skills

A team-oriented attitude and the ability to work collaboratively
