A bit about the role

We’re looking for a Cyber Security Lead to protect and strengthen the City of Casey’s digital environment. In this key role, you’ll lead a dedicated team to manage cyber risks, respond to threats, and build a security-first culture across the organisation.

What you’ll deliver

  • Manage the cyber security team to deliver an effective and proactive security capability.
  • Measure our cyber risks, the effectiveness of our controls and our maturity, and use these with our governance bodies to define evidence-based and appropriate ways forwards.
  • Manage and enhance our security operations centre and other threat reports to proactively keep our environment safe.
  • Implement both technology and behaviourally focused projects to reduce our cyber risk.
  • Work closely with other information and technology teams to ensure that security is implemented effectively throughout our infrastructure, applications, data sets and processes.
  • Confirm our environment is secure through regular security audits (e.g. penetration testing, risk analyses and phishing simulations etc) and implement improvements where issues are found.
  • Educate and assess our staff to ensure they become increasingly cyber-resilient.

What you’ll bring

  • Degree or equivalent experience in a related subject (e.g. cyber security, computer science etc.).
  • Significant experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of cyber security threats, incident response and risk management processes.
  • Demonstrated strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the business.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
  • Experience in applying principles of cyber security methodologies and frameworks, in particular NIST and Essential 8.
  • Experience of the Microsoft security stack.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
  • A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
