About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Hand Carpenter to join our team and oversee the construction of Modular Buildings for the mining and residential sectors. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for managing a crew, ensuring the quality of craftsmanship, maintaining safety standards, and meeting project timelines.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential and commercial carpentry, along with the ability to lead by example and communicate effectively. Preferable experience in Modular Construction including framing, cladding and fit out.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate a team of carpenters and labourers.

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications

Plan and lay out work to meet deadlines and budget requirements

Perform advanced carpentry tasks, including framing, finishing, and cabinetry

Inspect work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with building codes

Train and mentor junior carpenters and apprentices

Ensure job site safety and compliance with health and safety regulations

Liaise with project managers, subcontractors, and clients as needed

Qualifications:

Minimum 7 years of carpentry experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role

Strong knowledge of building codes, tools, and construction techniques

Proven leadership and team management skills

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities
