Perrott Engineering Pty Ltd is a relatively small specialist precision machining business located in Cairns and operating out of modern high security premises in the Edmonton Industrial Estate. We manufacture a range of components for the mining, marine and defense industries.

We currently have an opening for a CNC machine operator. The successful applicant will have a good work ethic, a desire to be part of a progressive team with the ability to work independently. In return, we offer;

· $45-00 to $50-00 hour plus super, tool allowance, uniforms and work boots.

We operate a number of Mazak and Okuma 3,4,5 and 7 axis machines as well as Sodick EDM wire cut, hole making and die sinking machines, Mitutoyo CMM and other manual turning, milling and grinding machines.

The ideal candidate will

· Be able to pass a Police check and medical exam.

· Currently hold or be qualified to obtain a Queensland weapons licence for Cat A and B rifles

· Have an interest in firearms design and manufacture.

· Have good manual lathe and mill skills and some CNC, CAD and MasterCam CAM experience.

· Have good computer skills

· Be able to read and interpret CAD drawings

· Have a willingness to learn and be trained

· A desire to become a highly skilled machine programmer and operator working on a wide and interesting variety of jobs.

This is a Monday to Friday permanent role based in Edmonton (Southern suburb of Cairns), working 40 hours a week 7am to 3.30pm.
