Sales Engineer – Power Generation

The Company

Paragon Talent has been engaged to assist a global organisation who manufacture, design and deliver automation solutions to a broad client base including Renewables, Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Water etc. Due to growth and increased client demand, a new opportunity has become available for a Sales Engineer to work in the Power Generation sector. This position can be based anywhere in Australia and the successful applicant will be working closely with clients in the Power Generation sector including Steam & Gas Turbines, Thermal Power and Renewables. This would suit a candidate who loves getting out and seeing clients and performing business development activities.

The Position

As a Sales Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Serving as the technical expert and trusted advisor to customers throughout the sales cycle
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients in the Power Generation sector throughout Australia and New Zealand
  • Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to showcase the features and capabilities of our clients solutions
  • Understand customer requirements and develop customized solutions to meet their specific needs
  • Provide technical guidance and support to customers, addressing any questions or concerns they may have
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as product development and engineering, to ensure customer requirements are effectively communicated and implemented
  • Prepare and deliver technical proposals and product quotes in response to customer inquiries
  • Assist in the preparation of sales forecasts, budgets, and reports
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor offerings
  • Participate in trade shows, conferences, and other sales events to promote our products and generate leads

This is an exciting period for my client who is currently very busy. This position would suit an Engineering professional who wishes to work for a global business where they can use their technical expertise and deliver world class solutions to their clients. The successful candidate will possess strong stakeholder engagement qualities, a solid business development mindset and achieve the best results. A very competitive salary package comprising of a base salary of $130K - $150K plus car allowance plus bonus plus super is available to the successful candidate.

Your Experience

To be considered for these positions, you will possess:

  • A degree or diploma in Computer Sciences, Computing, Electronics, Electrical engineering, Business or similar
  • Solid experience in a Sales/Business Development capacity, preferably in Australia or NZ
  • Experience and understanding of Power Generation, Steam & Gas Turbines, Thermal Power and/or Renewables
  • Past experience of selling industrial automation products i.e. SCADA, PLC, DCS, SIS
  • Demonstrable communication skills with strong customer focus and target orientation
  • Resourceful and self-driven with a high degree of professional integrity
