About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Test to join our Test Lead, helping to advance Seer’s quality and testing practices. You’ll be working closely with the software development team as a tester and quality coach to establish and maintain quality best practices throughout the development lifecycle.

You’ll be primarily focused on building out and executing test cases to support the FDA clearance of our medical devices, ahead of our upcoming launch in the US. You’ll primarily work on our cloud-based applications, as well as integrations with the hardware that comprises our service offering.

Your responsibilities

Create, document and execute manual and automated test plans

Develop and maintain automated UI test suites using tools like Cypress to meet verification needs for compliance, streamline testing and improve efficiency.

Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, leveraging Azure DevOps for version control, test case management, and reporting.

Develop and manage cross-browser and cross-device test plans

Identify and triage bugs with the development team and track them through resolution

Review and refine software requirements from a quality perspective

Maintain traceability between software requirements and test cases

Promote a quality-first mindset within the development team

Champion quality across the technology group and assist with upskilling team members in methods and approaches to improve development quality

About you

We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of software testing. We are looking for people with some of the following attributes, though we don’t expect the perfect candidate to be an expert in all:

5+ years of experience in Software Testing

Highly self-motivated and directed

Excellent written and oral communication skills

A desire to learn, grow, network, mentor others

Excitement and curiosity about working in the medical device industry

Excellent understanding of progression, regression, white-box, black-box, end-to-end, acceptance, UI, UX and integration testing

Experience writing new end-to-end automated tests

Experience in maintaining existing automation tests and working with legacy test scripts/code

While not necessary, experience with any of the following will be looked upon favourably:

Experience with ticketing system such as Jira or Azure DevOps

Test automation using Javascript/Typescript

Exposure to logging tools like Datadog, Sentry, Splunk, Sumo Logic

Experience in the medical device industry, specifically in IEC 62304 - Medical Device Software Development
