At Meli, we are dedicated to supporting individuals and strengthening our communities. We are looking for enthusiastic Early Childhood Educators (Cert III and Diploma) to join our relief casual pool. In these roles, you will deliver high-quality, inclusive education programs and help create a nurturing and stimulating environment for our youngest learners.
About the Role
As a member of our relief casual pool, you will:
- Step in to provide high-quality, inclusive early childhood education programs during pre-planned leave or at short notice (night before or morning of).
- Develop and maintain respectful relationships with children, families, colleagues, and partner agencies.
- Provide appropriate and adequate supervision of children.
- Identify, respond and report concerns regarding child safety and wellbeing.
- As part of the team, undertake preparation activities, ensure general cleanliness and set up and pack up of equipment and activities.
Position Details
- Casual position with a minimum availability of two days per week
- Shifts will include both pre-arranged relief and short notice placements (morning of or night before).
- Salary as per VECTEA 2020 - $27.17 to $31.61 p/h (depending on experience and qualification)

What We're Looking For
We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:
- A relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education (Certificate III, Diploma, or Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent as approved by ACECQA and suitable pursuant to the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011)
- A valid employee Working with Children Check for Educators.
- Knowledge of the National Education and Care Services Act and Regulations 2011 and the Victorian Early Years Learning Framework and ECEC National Quality Framework and Standards
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to adapt to different teams and settings.
- A passion for supporting children’s development through creative, reflective, and responsive teaching practices.
