Our client is fast-paced, forward-thinking organisation located in the northern suburbs of Canberra and are looking to add an experienced Network Engineer to their team on a permanent basis.

This full-time position includes participation in an on-call roster and offers the flexibility to work from home one day per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain network infrastructure including, Software Defined Networks, Firewalls, Routers, Switches, and Wireless Systems (Cisco/Meraki)
• Proactively monitor and troubleshoot network performance, ensuring high availability and reliability
• Provide advanced support for network-related incidents and escalations
• Conduct site assessments and develop network topology documentation and improvement plans
• Maintain and support Microsoft-based systems including Windows Server, Active Directory, Hyper-V and Office 365
• Participate in system and network migrations, upgrades and integration projects
• Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to deliver technical solutions
• Maintain accurate documentation of system and network configurations, procedures and incident resolutions
• Contribute to continuous improvement of IT processes, standards and security posture

Essential Skills and Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role with a strong focus on network engineering
• Demonstrated experience with Cisco/Meraki SD-WAN solutions and cloud-managed networks
• Proven experience designing and supporting complex network environments (including multi-site, VLANs, VPNs and SD-WAN)
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment, with CCNA required (CCNP highly regarded)
• Sound knowledge of firewall configuration, policy management and threat mitigation (Cisco, Fortinet or similar)
• Strong understanding of IP networking, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), DNS/DHCP and QoS
• Proficiency in Microsoft technologies – Office 365, Azure, Windows Server, Hyper-V
