DVPC is actively recruiting for passionate DFV specialists to work with men who use violence in their relationships.
Who should apply?
We will consider applications from both experienced workers as well as those who have transferable skills or are new graduates with relevant qualifications and an interest in working with men in a specialist DV service. Ongoing training and development will be provided to successful candidates to enable them to fully meet the requirements of the role.
About the role
A Men’s Domestic Violence Intervention Worker works with men to address their behaviours, beliefs and attitudes that cause harm in their relationships. This position will work individually with men to assess their suitability for participation in the group program, provide information regarding the court process and outcomes, and make referrals to appropriate agencies. For the right candidate there will be opportunities to co-facilitate programs based on the Duluth Curriculum, manage the waitlist and undertake any relevant case management.
This is a full-time (36.25hrs/week) role.

Salary
SCHADS Award SACS level 4 or 5 depending on the successful applicant's skills, experience and qualifications.
A 12 month contract will be offered with the potential to extend.
About you
We are looking for someone with the following key attributes:
An understanding of the behaviour change process in relation to domestic and family violence
The ability to initiate respectful and accountable engagements with men who use violence in their relationships and guide them to critically reflect on their controlling and abusive behaviour, attitudes and beliefs
Ability to produce accurate and comprehensive records in a timely manner
Able to work as part of a team
Be flexible, adaptable and comfortable working with crisis situations in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
Keep an open posture to learning about yourself and your practice

The Domestic Violence Prevention Centre (DVPC) is a specialist service that supports women, young people and children who have experienced domestic and family violence. We also deliver the Men's DV Education and Intervention program and convene an Integrated Response group that works with agencies on the Gold Coast to improve collaboration and responses to victim survivors of domestic violence to enhance their safety and wellbeing.
