Position Overview

Position: Learning Assistant - Junior School (Prep)

Workload FTE - Full Time, Term time only

Employment Basis: Permanent

Anticipated Start Date: 14 July 2025 (Term 3)

The Role

St Andrews Lutheran College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Assistant to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students and teachers in a vibrant and inclusive school environment, where every child is encouraged to thrive.

As a Learning Assistant, you will work closely with classroom teachers to support student learning, promote independence, and contribute to a positive and engaging educational experience.

Key Responsibilities

Assist teachers with classroom activities and curriculum delivery

Support individual students and small groups with learning tasks

Prepare and maintain classroom resources and learning spaces

Help manage daily routines and classroom organisation

Supervise students during break times and playground duties

Monitor and report on classroom equipment and facilities

Perform other duties as directed by the School

About You

Certificate III in Education Support (or higher)

Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in an educational setting

A current Blue Card for child-related employment (or eligibility to obtain one)

A current First Aid Certificate

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A genuine passion for supporting student learning and wellbeing

Full working rights in Australia
