We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to work as a member of a small team to provide support to a man in his thirties who lives independently in his own home. He enjoys the company of family and close friends, having a laugh, and volunteering his time in the community. He is known for his love of the outdoors; picnics, bush walking, camping and sailing.

He has limited verbal skills however is intelligent, perceptive and a keen observer of life. He is surrounded by a strong informal support system and social framework that includes his family and informal networks, who play a central role in his life, providing encouragement, guidance and oversight.

We are seeking a male or female support worker who:

Your duties will include:

• Supporting the person with their communication, implementing their multiple, complex, communication strategies.
• Supporting the person’s personal dignity and well being in all activities and at all times.
• Assisting the person with daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, household chores, and transportation.
• Supporting social and community participation, including attending events, outings, and appointments.
• Supporting the person to thrive in his home by maintaining his routines and rhythm, ensuring his environment remains safe and welcoming
• Supporting him to attain valued roles and maintain and develop existing and new relationships.
• Following individual support plans and providing feedback to the Supervising Team Leader and other professionals as required.
• Maintaining clear and accurate documentation such as shift notes, incident reports and medication records.

Hours

This is a part-time, casual role. Hours will be variable and fluctuate based on the requirements of the man. In this role, you will be required to work day, evening and overnight (inactive) shifts on weekdays, weekends and public holidays.

A minimum hours of commitment is 25 hours per fortnight not including sleepover shifts (8 hours).

Pay Rates:

• Monday to Friday 6am to 8pm shift - $39.75 per hour
• Monday to Friday 8pm - 6am - shift $44.52 per hour
• Saturdays - $55.65 per hour
• Sunday - $71.55 per hour
• Public Holidays - $87.45 per hour
• Sleepover allowance $120 per shift

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience working in disability support and have a high attention to detail.
• Understanding of person-centred, strengths-based, and rights-focused approaches.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• NDIS Worker Screening clearance.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
• A car, valid driver's license, and vehicle insurance.
• Availability for flexible hours, including some weekend or evening shifts.
• Completion of the NDIS Quality, Safety, and You module.
