Livestock Truck Driver - Toowoomba, QLD

About the role
Hit the road in a modern Kenworth, moving sheep and cattle across regional Australia. You’ll load from saleyards and deliver to feedlots and abattoirs—earning great money along the way. If you love working with livestock and don’t mind nights away, this one’s for you!

Duties

• Load and unload sheep and cattle (primarily sheep).
• Operate B-double and A-double road trains.
• Drive modern manual 18-speed Kenworth trucks (mainly cab-overs and T610 models).
• Transport livestock from saleyards to feedlots and abattoirs.
• Spend approximately 10 nights away from home each fortnight.
• Perform basic roadside maintenance, including changing tyres.
• Handle livestock with care, including accurate counting.
• Work closely with animals; having working dogs is welcomed but not required.

Skills and experience

• Physically fit and comfortable working with livestock.
• Strong attention to detail, especially when handling and counting animals.
• Livestock experience is highly regarded—licence upgrades can be supported.
• Truck driving experience is welcome—training provided for livestock handling.
• Valid driver's licence and clean driving history.
• Must pass a full medical, including drug and alcohol testing.
• Q Fever vaccination required (or willingness to get vaccinated).
