As our Lifestyle Assistant, you’ll have the freedom to get creative and truly personalise each day. You’ll get to know who lights up when they hear opera music, who can’t be beaten at cards, who has a lifelong love of horses, and who quietly beams when their favourite movie genre comes on. Your job is to design days and activities around those discoveries which could include a range of events from Bingo, movie marathons, happy hour, cooking days, art workshops or even starting a book club.
This role could also be perfect for someone who may not be working in this exact role, but working in Aged care as a Care Assistant looking to develop their career further.
A day on the job will see you:
Build genuine relationships with residents and supporting their emotional, social and cultural wellbeing.
Develop, plan, set up and deliver lifestyle programs and group activities
Support residents one on one to participate in the things they love.
Noticing and reporting any changes in behaviour or care needs
Helping manage activity resources and funds, and occasionally heading out

Certificate IV in Leisure or Allied Health or similar with related work experience will get our attention. Alternatively, we are open to applicants who hold a Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care) or similar with at least 12 months aged care experience.
Outstanding communication and people skills and the ability to build relationships quickly
A passion for variety and creativity - offering a mix of engaging group and individual activities
Confidence to take charge, find solutions and work autonomously
Tech-savvy with MS Office Suite and computer skills at the ready
A valid driver’s licence is essential

About Us
For 60 years, St Bart’s has supported people experiencing homelessness and severe and persistent mental health issues as they rebuild their lives. We started as a small homeless shelter for men and have grown into a progressive and inclusive organisation providing support to hundreds of Western Australian men, women and families across four key service areas. Our goal is to provide safe, supported accommodation and services to people who need it the most, regardless of background, age, gender or ethnicity.
