About the role

Akeyulerre Aboriginal Corporation is seeking an experienced and dedicated Case Manager to join our Family Support Services team. As a Case Manager, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive support and care to families in Alice Springs and the surrounding region. This full-time position will involve working closely with our community to address complex social and emotional challenges, helping families access essential services and resources.

2. Leadership and Professional Development: The Case Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the Family Support Services (FSS) program, managing client cases, assisting the Program Manager, and collaborating with key stakeholders. This position offers a chance to strengthen Akeyulerre’s role as the lead agency, ensuring cultural leadership and self-determination principles are upheld.

3. Comprehensive Support and Collaboration: The role involves delivering respectful, trauma-informed, and culturally grounded family support, facilitating access to various services, and promoting family participation in cultural activities.

What you'll be doing

Engaging with families to assess their needs and develop individualised support plans

Coordinating the delivery of a range of family support services, including counselling, parenting programs, and community outreach

Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of social workers, psychologists, and community leaders to provide holistic care

Advocating on behalf of families to ensure they receive the necessary support and resources

Maintaining detailed case notes and records, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our services

Actively participating in team meetings, training, and professional development opportunities

What we're looking for

A degree in Social Work, Community Services, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role

Strong case management skills, with the ability to assess needs, develop care plans, and coordinate service delivery

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and engage effectively with families from diverse backgrounds

A deep understanding of the social, emotional, and cultural needs of the local Aboriginal community

Familiarity with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child and family welfare

A compassionate and empathetic approach, with a genuine commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of families
