About the role

XTraffic is seeking experienced Traffic Controllers to join our team on a casual basis around Melbourne, Vic. As a Traffic Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of workers and the public on temporary traffic management sites. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong focus on health and safety, as well as the ability to effectively manage traffic flow and communicate with stakeholders.

What you'll be doing

Controlling and directing traffic at construction sites to ensure the safe passage of vehicles and pedestrians

Perform all duties related to traffic control and site safety management

Implementing and monitoring traffic management plans

Load and unload signage and traffic control equipment

Communicating with site managers, workers, and the public to provide updates and instructions

Maintaining a safe work environment and identifying and reducing potential hazards

Complete all required documentation and reports accurately

Adhering to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations

Travel to various work locations as needed

What we're looking for

Valid traffic control tickets/certifications

Demonstrated experience in traffic control and management

Completion of the following accredited courses:

RIIWHS205E – Control Traffic with Stop/Slow Bat

RIIWHS302E – Implement Traffic Management Plans

Construction Induction Card (White Card)

Current and valid Driver’s License

Personal two-way radio and full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Experience working on roadways and active construction sites

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Physically capable of standing for extended periods

Well-presented, reliable, and punctual

Availability to work weekends as require
