About the role
The purpose of this role is to provide specialised research skills and services for CCS, RBWH, Metro North Health and collaborators. This includes assisting in the development and executing of research proposals and grants and gain clinical governance and ethical clearance to maximise research capacity. Additionally, this role will provide specialised cancer research training, contribute to the development of the CCS research strategy, lead and manage investigator-initiated clinical research programs within CCS and develop and participate in collaborative interprofessional research activities with both internal and external research groups.
This role will also provide oversight and support to external research staff in respect to credentialing requirements.

- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses, and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) (2015) - Generic Level Statements (GLS) Nurse Grade 7 and the Queensland Health and Metro North Health's commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
- Integrate nursing and health care knowledge, skills, and ability by supporting an evidence-based learning environment and participating in learning activities/opportunities for self and others.
- Collaborate with others to promote and communicate research activity as achievable and rewarding and assist to maximise research potential in novice researchers.
- Work collaboratively with academic partners, health care consumers, and with other internal and external stakeholders to build research capacity through identification of training, collaboration, and funding opportunities.
