The Barossa Hills Fleurieu SA Pharmacy service is expanding to meet the needs of the growing community north of Adelaide. The SA Pharmacy team based in Gawler will be extending clinical pharmacy services to Angaston and Tanunda in the Barossa Valley. The position can be based in either of the 3 sites, with a need to visit all 3 sites as part of the role. Clinical pharmacy services can be offered by telehealth when needed to ensure equity for all patients in the BHFLHN.
About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Pharmacist to lead the organisation, management, and operation of a designated pharmacy area. In this key position, you will provide a high-level range of pharmacy services, exercising autonomous clinical judgement while delivering expert medicines information and therapeutic advice to patients, medical staff, nurses, and other health professionals.
Your role will focus on optimising patient outcomes by implementing strategies that promote the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of pharmaceuticals in alignment with hospital policies, divisional procedures, and professional practice standards. This is a rewarding opportunity to influence service delivery, support evidence-based care, and contribute meaningfully within a multidisciplinary clinical team.
About You
You are a highly skilled and experienced pharmacist with a strong foundation in hospital pharmacy practice. You bring leadership capability, clinical expertise, and a commitment to service improvement in a complex and dynamic healthcare setting.
Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent, and registered (or eligible) with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Proven ability to lead teams, manage workloads, and deliver service improvements in high-pressure environments.
Experienced in clinical data analysis, research, and problem solving within hospital pharmacy operations.
Comprehensive understanding of pharmacy practice standards, codes of conduct, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
