About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Rural General Practitioner to join our team at Loxton Health Centre in Loxton, South Australia. As a full-time Rural General Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, comprehensive primary care to our diverse patient population in this close-knit rural community.

What you'll be doing

Conducting consultations, examinations and treatment of patients of all ages. 4 full consulting days/week from 8.30am to 5.00pm

Diagnosing and managing a wide range of medical conditions

Prescribing appropriate medications and treatments

Coordinating patient care, including referrals to specialists and allied health professionals

Providing after-hours Emergency On-Call services as part of a rotating roster at the Loxton Hospital at a frequency of approximately one 24 hour On-Call day each week

Participating in continuing medical education and professional development activities

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records

Collaborating with the wider healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients

What we're looking for

Registration as a General Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

At least 2 years needed working within the healthcare system and 2 years general practice experience desired but not necessary.

Must have up to date CPR Accreditation and basic life support

Desired to have a fellowship through RACGP or ACRRM, or working towards obtaining one of these fellowships

Strong clinical and diagnostic skills, with the ability to manage a diverse range of medical presentations

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients, families and the healthcare team

Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centred care

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Adaptability and resilience to handle the demands of rural general practice
