We're seeking an experienced and compassionate leader to step into the role of Home-Based Care Team Lead-supporting children, young people, and carers through trauma-informed practice and high-quality service delivery.

About the Role

This is a pivotal leadership position overseeing services across Home-Based Care, Carer Recruitment and Support, Intake and Placement, and Permanent Care and Adoption.

As Team Lead, you will supervise a team of skilled practitioners, guiding them to deliver exceptional care while ensuring compliance with legislative and practice standards. You'll actively embed Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) as the core model of care and lead strategic initiatives to strengthen outcomes for vulnerable children and families.

Practice & Program Delivery

• Ensure service delivery aligns with relevant standards and legislative requirements set by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) and the Department of Justice.
• Oversee performance, compliance, and support for children, young people, and carers across all program areas.
• Drive high-quality, trauma-informed practice, including the implementation of TBRI principles.

• Provide regular, reflective supervision to team members in accordance with the organisation's supervision framework.
• Identify professional development opportunities to grow individual and team capacity.

Change & Resource Management

• Lead change initiatives with clarity and empathy, helping teams adapt to evolving needs.
• Manage team structures and resources effectively to meet service goals.
• Ensure continuity and sustainability through strong systems for knowledge sharing and team development.

About You

You have worked as a leader with a background in child and family services. You understand the challenges facing vulnerable children and families and bring a commitment to evidence-informed, trauma-aware practice.

You will have:

• A qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services, or a related field.
• Experience leading teams in out-of-home care, child protection, or related service areas.
• Strong working knowledge of care standards, regulatory frameworks, and trauma-informed models of care.
• The ability to lead change, manage team performance, and maintain a high standard of professional practice.
