Due to strong project pipeline and strategic expansion into aligned sector's, we are currently looking for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join our clients Commercial Construction business.

Our client, a leading and established builder / developer with an extensive history across retail, commercial and Industrial projects who are renowned for nurturing talent, through their supportive senior management team whose ideals are sustained through open-minded leadership, continuous career progression and encouraging ongoing training and development.

This role will be ideally suited to a 1–2-year experienced quantity surveyor who has ideally worked for a commercial builder as junior estimator (for 1-2 years). The ideal candidate will need to be attentive and detailed by nature, with strong ability to read plans, measure up quantities and then produce BOQ’s.

You will be an individual who is self-motivated with a keen eye for detail, analytical, methodical with an acute sense of and ability to ‘think outside the box’. Your passion for construction and estimating processes will show through with the quality and accuracy of your work. You’ll have sound technical knowledge and be able to adapt to the varied projects they deliver.

Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for:

Producing BOQ’s for project tenders including Government Institutional and Industrial projects $5m+

Ability to manage and liaise with suppliers, contractors, engineers, architects and Sales Consultants etc.

Read and interpret drawings and plans

Obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers

Assisting in the development and maintenance of best practice estimating, bid management and tender processes

Able to be self-driven, motivated and offer systems efficiencies

To be considered for first stage interview please ensure you have:

Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveyor or Construction Management

Previous Commercial Construction Estimating experience In Australia (Essential)

Experience on Commercial Projects tendered $2m + in Australia (Essential)

Advanced level of Experience with Estimating Software - e.g. BuildSoft, MS Excel etc.

Self- motivation, driven and ambitious to meet and exceed targets

The ability to work unsupervised
