TP Human Capital is currently seeking experienced and reliable Underground Jumbo Operators for an exciting opportunity at a well-established hard rock mining operation in North Queensland.

Role Details

• Roster: 7/7 rotating roster (day and night shifts)
• Hours: 12.5-hour shifts
• FIFO: Available from Brisbane, Townsville, and Cairns
• Pay Rate: Competitive rates based on experience + superannuation paid on all hours

About the Role
You will be responsible for operating underground jumbo rigs for development and production activities, supporting the drill and blast cycle, and ensuring safety and efficiency on site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate jumbo drills to accurately drill blast holes
• Install ground support including bolts, mesh, and shotcrete
• Conduct pre-start checks and perform routine equipment maintenance
• Record drilling parameters and ground conditions
• Maintain detailed and accurate shift handover reports
• Monitor ground conditions and adjust operations as required
• Assist with blast preparations and safe handling of explosives
• Collaborate with engineers, geologists, and other mining personnel
• Adhere strictly to safety procedures and site regulations

Mandatory Requirements

• Pre-employment medical (Mineral Mines and Quarries)
• Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)
• Blood lead level testing
• Chest X-ray with ILO classification
• Drug and alcohol screening
• National Police Check

• Valid Open Manual Driver’s Licence (no restrictions)
• Ability to pass the following:
• Only candidates with Australian or New Zealand permanent residency or citizenship will be considered
• Ability to complete all required site inductions

Ideal Candidates Will Have

• Minimum +5 years’ experience

• One within the last 12 months
• One within the last 5 years

• Proven underground mining experience in jumbo operations
• Stable work history with two contactable references:
• Strong understanding of underground safety and mining protocols
• Solid communication skills and ability to work within a team
• High attention to detail and problem-solving ability in high-pressure environments
