The Role

As our Senior Strategy and Planning Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of TasWater by evolving our enterprise strategy, refining strategic blueprints, and advancing our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) approach. You’ll lead the development and implementation of forward-thinking strategic planning practices that ensure we remain agile, resilient, and well-positioned to meet future challenges and opportunities.:

Lead enterprise-wide strategy and planning practices, working closely with senior leadership and the Board to shape direction and ensure strategic readiness.

Develop insight-driven, actionable recommendations, using data and foresight to guide key strategic decisions and deliver measurable impact across the organisation.

Shape environment, sustainability and governance (ESG) reporting, ensuring transparency, compliance, and continuous improvement in line with ESG standards and stakeholder expectations.

What we're looking for

A strategic thinker with strong planning expertise, proven experience in enterprise strategy and planning, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders. You’ll need excellent communication and analytical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for turning insights into impactful action.

The experience that will help you succeed in this role includes:

Leading the development and implementation of enterprise strategy, strategic blueprints, and business planning processes

Contributing to corporate planning, ensuring alignment to strategic goals, and recommending improvements to strategic planning processes.

Developing and maintaining a strategy measurement framework, including KPIs and sustainability benchmarks.

Providing clear and compelling insights drawn from market analysis, industry benchmarking, trend monitoring, and scenario development.

Playing a key role in the development of TasWater’s ESG approach and leading strategy aspects of mandatory ESG reporting and the annual sustainability report.

The Details

This is a permanent full-time position based in Hobart, Launceston, or Devonport, with flexible work arrangements and hybrid working options so you can balance your professional and personal priorities.
The position attracts a total remuneration package of circa $150K per annum (including superannuation).
