St John of God Social Outreach Services
Our Aged care program or RACF is a PHN funded program for aged care residents managed by St John of God Social Outreach, we oversee the service and have full clinical governance. We offer mental health support for residents inclusive of assessment and therapeutic interventions which are aligned with the client's presentation.
Your role at St John of God Social Outreach
We are seeking applications for a Registered Nurse (Mental Health) to join our Raphael Services team in Bendigo, on a fixed-term basis until July 2026.
You will be a member of a multi-disciplinary Mental Health Services team that provides comprehensive mental health care to referred clients and their families, where appropriate.
- Provide high quality best practiced and evidenced based interventions and contribute to ongoing quality improvement within Community Mental Health Services and the organisation.
- Support and contribute to the SJGHC Social Outreach strategic directions of mental health treatment, support and care.
The Position
- Provide specialist mental health services to clients and their families, where appropriate.
- Maintain knowledge of current best practice and research.
- Ensure clinical practice is culturally sensitive.
- Liaise and build effective relationships with primary and tertiary care as well as other relevant health services/community agencies to ensure continuity of care for clients.
- Support the specialist consultation and education/training to primary care, government and nongovernment agencies.
- Facilitate therapeutic group programs.
- Maintain client records and statistical data in accordance with legislation, Medicare requirements, professional standards, and SJGHC requirements.
- Participate in supervision and continuous professional development.
- Evaluate clinical outcomes and participate in research activities as required.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of programs relevant to the needs of vulnerable families.
You will have current Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and demonstrate ability and experience providing a range of psychotherapeutic interventions to individuals, families and groups.
To succeed you will have knowledge and application of the relevant Mental Health Act, National Mental Health Standards, ethical principles and legislation governing professional practice and an ability to provide services in a variety of locations.

We can offer you:
- Salary: $108,867 to $114,596 per annum (pro rata for part time), plus 11.5% superannuation
- Fixed term part time contract until July 2026, working 30 hours per week.
