GenesisCare is now looking for experienced Registered Nurses to join our wonderful team on a casual basis working across our Radiation Oncology centres based in Bella Vista and within Macquarie University hospital.

The role will be a part of a close-knit team of nurses who deliver best practice services in Radiation Oncology Nursing. Along with the multidisciplinary team, you will be part of giving our patients an exceptional treatment experience.

More specifically, you will:

• Provide excellent patient care, ensuring patient's physical and psychological needs are met.
• Undertake direct patient care including education, wound management, and drug administration as per Practice Protocol.
• Effectively manage nursing patient load.
• Facilitate effective lines of communication with doctors, patient services, physics, and radiation therapy staff and provide feedback to the doctors and radiation therapy staff as relevant regarding their patients.
• Liaise with co-located St. Vincent's Campus -Private and Public Hospital nursing staff.
• Ensure all patient listed events are documented, communicated, and actioned.
• Monitor and maintain procedures, protocols, practices, and clinical guidelines in line with best practice radiation oncology nursing standards.
• Ensure medication management protocols are followed.
• Establish communication for allied health services using ISBAR communication tool to all allied health services along with supported documented evidence.
• Comply with patient handover procedures as per ISBAR communication tool.
• Demonstrate reliability, motivation & flexibility.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

• Current and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Have a minimum two year post graduate experience.
• Preferred oncology background/Knowledge, however not essential.
• Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to demonstrate empathy for patients and their carers.
• Demonstrated clinical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to plan and coordinate the clinical management of care.
• Commitment to and involvement in the application of quality improvement and evidence-based practice principles.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a team member.
• Show commitment to continuing professional development
