Friends at Home is experiencing growth, and we are looking for experienced Home Care Assistants to work with our clients in their own home to regain independence. The role may encompass personal care, domestic assistance and social respite. Our small team of Professional Home Care Assistants deal with the aged and infirm in a safe, happy environment, building rewarding relationships.

Initially the role will be on a casual basis with a view to permanency for the right candidate.

Job Description

We are looking for Carers who can work autonomously and are willing to travel around the Perth Metro area (with compensation of vehicle use).

Our services offer individuals one on one care in their homes with the ultimate outcome being a return to, and support of independence. The Carer we are seeking must be kind, compassionate, and engaging.

Duties include:

Personal Care, assistance with showering and personal care

Assistance with toileting and continence aids

Support mobility and safe transfers

Meal preparation

Social support

Domestic assistance, cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, assisting with laundry and other home duties

About you

The successful applicant, to be able to work autonomously delivering home care in the community will have the following:

Cert III in Individual Support or equivalent

Great Communication skills

Valid WA Driver's License

Good understanding of the Perth metro area and ability to travel

Roadworthy Vehicle with Comprehensive insurance

National Police Clearance

Mobile phone

And Ideally:

A current First Aid + CPR Certificate

Manual Handling Competency

Medication Competency

Workplace Health and Safety training

Infection Prevention and Control training

Influenza and Covid vaccination is preferred
