Why We Call It a Traineeship
At Speechcare, we know that the transition from university to clinical practice is a huge leap. That’s why we don’t expect you to be “job ready” on day one — and we don’t want you to feel like you have to be.
This role is called a traineeship because it reflects our philosophy: that the first year of practice should be an extension of your learning journey, not a sink-or-swim scenario. As a trainee, you will be:
Supported, not just supervised
Given protected time to reflect, upskill, and debrief
Encouraged to grow your identity as a clinician with confidence and authenticity
The Speechcare traineeship provides the safety, structure, and support needed to develop into a competent, compassionate, and self-assured speech pathologist — at your pace.
About the Role
As a Speechcare trainee, you will work with children and young people (0–18 years) with a wide range of communication needs, including neurodivergent clients, speech and language delays, AAC users, and more.
