Our client is currently seeking a number of APS6 Technical Advisory to join the team within a Federal Government Agency based in Brisbane.

The Technical Advisory Branch is part of the Operations and Support Division. The Technical Advisory Branch Team (TAB) is responsible for providing specialist technical/clinical and operational advice in relation to complex and novel cases, and support requests provides nuanced, sensitive, and high quality 'specialised clinical and technical' advice that is aligned with relevant legislation and policies to ensure supports meet participants varied and sometimes novel or complex support needs.

The team drives consistency in the application of the NDIA reasonable and necessary planning decisions and Access decision making frameworks as outlined in the NDIS Act and Rules, tools, and operational guidelines to help facilitate the achievement of participant and scheme outcomes.

The Technical Advisory Branch plays a critical role in providing support and building the capability of NDIA staff and partners to make complex decisions where technical or clinical advice is required. The branch is also a key contributor to policy development and practice guidance for the Agency.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Providing subject matter expertise using a coaching and mentoring approach, advising on the most appropriate supports to achieve participant outcomes.
  • Managing sensitive conversations and situations associated with approval of funding.
  • Liaising and working with stakeholders, delegates, partners and providers to ensure consistent decision making and outcome achievement.
  • Providing high quality written and telephone advice and record keeping

Required qualifications in any of the below. These are acknowledged as covering degree, advanced or other diploma qualifications in the following areas:

  • Occupational Therapy
  • Prosthetics and Orthotics
  • Speech Pathology
  • Physiotherapy
  • Psychology
  • Registered Nursing (must be eligible for AHPRA registration),
  • Social Work
  • Mental Health Practitioners
  • Specialists Behavioural Support Practitioners

This role is at the APS6 level equivalent offering $60.26 per hour + super. The rate of pay is casually loaded, as you will not be accruing annual or sick leave. These are 12 month assignments with view to extension, and will require full-time availability.

Hybrid flex up to 2 days per week is available following training.
