About the role
Mater Private Hospital Springfield is seeking an exceptional Registered Nurse to join the Surgical Day Unit team. This is a maximum-term, part-time position, 32 hours per week until 31/12/2025. Flexibility is required around shift days which will be discussed at interview.
The Mater Private Hospital Springfield Day Unit offers exceptional individualised care and is committed to enhancing the patient experience by providing preoperative education, information and support.
Salary range: $41.74 - $53.53 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
We are now seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated Registered Nurse who is interested in becoming part of the exceptional Day Surgery team in this challenging and rewarding position. This position would suit an experienced nurse who understands what it is to be the ‘face of the Mater’ and prides themselves on demonstrating their exceptional interpersonal skills to enhance the patients’ journey.
The ideal applicant for this role will have a high level of self-motivation and personal integrity, the ability to make decisions and accept responsibility for their actions as well as exceptional communication skills.
- Admitting and preparing patients for surgical procedures
- Clinical judgement of patients vitals in the preparedness for proposed procedure
- Using Mater policy and protocols in the safe discharge of patients post operatively
- Culturally diverse and non judgmental approach to the patient journey through the peri operative unit
About you
As a dedicated Registered Nurse, you will have:
- Current AHPRA registration (no restrictions)
- Minimum 3 years surgical nursing experience
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Clinical competency and the ability to maintain the highest standards of nursing practice
- Excellent communication, problem solving and negotiation skills
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
- Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening, negotiation and decision-making skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Commitment to ensuring the levels of service is always delivered to patients
