Mildura Graduate Nurse/Midwifery - Combined Nursing and Midwifery Program

Mildura Base Public Hospital (MBPH) are seeking Graduate Registered Nurses for the 2026 Mildura Graduate Nurse/Midwifery - Combined Nursing and Midwifery Program.

About Us:

MBPH is a 172- bed (level 1) tertiary teaching hospital, offering services to both public and private patients. We are a major public referral health service for the Northern Mallee sub-region of the Loddon Mallee region of Victoria, the far west region of New South Wales, and the Riverland area of South Australia. The Midwifery Unit consists of 12 postnatal beds, 4 Birth Suites and a 6 bed Special Care Nursery. The capability is Level 4 Birth Suite (34 weeks and over) and Level 3 Nursery (>34 weeks and >2000gm babies). We deliver around 900 babies per year. We are committed to providing exceptional patient care and fostering professional growth for our staff.

Program Overview:

This program will provide you with the skills to transition into the nursing and midwifery workforce as a Dual Qualified Practitioner. You will have a supportive, caring and friendly environment to learn and grow in your profession. We will help to facilitate the development of your confidence, expertise, professionalism and excellence in clinical skills that will see you succeed in this Combined Graduate Program.

The Mildura Base Public Hospital Combined Graduate Registered Nurse/Midwifery Program commences on 27th January 2026 and concludes on the 14th February 2027. The Combined Registered Nurse/Midwifery program offers 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week) with an option for full-time graduate positions.

Program Highlights:

· 3 weeks Orientation Program

· Two weeks supernumerary in Special Care Nursery

· Two weeks supernumerary in Birth Suite with clinical support

· Four paid study days (Midwifery rotation) and four paid study days (Nursing rotation) to promote and encourage professional development

· 6month rotation in Adult Surgical/Paediatrics

· 6month rotation in the Midwifery Unit

· Supernumerary time at the commencement of each rotation

· Preceptorship

About you:

You are currently studying a Bachelor of Nursing & Midwifery and will complete your degree in the academic year January 2025 to March 2026, and meet the PMCV- Allocation’s business rules and are eligible to apply.
